What Is the Perfect Time to Prepare for IIT JEE?

Start at the right time, you will not have to regret it later.

IIT is the short form of Indian Institute of Technology. IITs are the most recognized colleges to study engineering in India.

How to get into the IITs?

Candidates who crack the JEE exam will be qualified to take admission to many top colleges and IITs.

JEE stands for Joint Entrance Exam. It is an all-India entrance exam aiming to help candidates to find a seat from various engineering colleges across the country.

Now the question is when to start preparing for IIT JEE?

Is there a specific time?

There is no best possible answer for this. Many coaching institutes are providing classes for 8th-grade students. There are certain English-medium schools providing JEE coaching to 6th-grade students.

How do find out which is the right stage for the preparation of JEE exam?

I am sharing here a 6th-grade student’s experience who was my neighbor 1 year back. When I asked Anita about her experience, she told me,” It was very tough to answer all the questions within the allotted time period. The pattern was very difficult to grasp at one time. It may get easier after 2-3 years of practice.”

This is Anita’s experience. There may be other students curious to know about JEE from an early age and enjoy the coaching classes. So, it depends on the student’s interest when he/she is ready to go for it.

There are parents who may think that 6th or 8th grade is too early to take JEE coaching. It’s natural for parents to think like this. They don’t want their children to take too much stress. They may prefer their children to start after 10th grade. It’s the ideal time for children to discover various career options and select the one in which they have interests.

Final Words

In my opinion, students should be given a chance to learn the fundamentals of JEE just after 10th grade. Let them decide whether they want to go for it or not. If you push them to take JEE coaching before the 10th grade then they may lose concentration on the board exam or it may be an overburden for them. Altogether, it’s up to you and the interests of your child that determine when he/she should start preparing for IIT JEE.
